Why did you choose the program?
I chose the program because I’m very interested in making programs and the science behind the computer.
What are the challenges you experienced while studying? (Cite at least 2)
Lack of financial, Lack of resources, like google today. Yahoo was not broad as Google today. Books were not good resources during that time.
How did you overcome it? (Explain for each situation mentioned above)
First, God helped me. I worked for many jobs just to have money. One of the memorable experiences that gave me a good income was when I was creating a program and sell it to students from other schools. I remember one of the students from a known university bought my program. Listen to the Instructor’s lecture and always attend classes. I borrowed some books from my friends related to my course.
How do you feel about overcoming the challenges?
Very thankful and blessed. God helped me and also all the people around me. I’m happy that GIST has the heart to understand my situation, especially on the financial aspect.
What is your advice to a student who wishes to take the same program as yours?
Always ask the Lord to help and guide you. Focus on lessons because the program is not easy as what you are thinking. Be a student who has a goal to be the best among the best. Because when you graduate, many opportunities come to your hand.
How did the program help you in your current work/employment status?
It helps me find a decent job. It gave me more opportunities when it comes to programming or related to computers.
