The STAR (System for TVET Accreditation and Recognition) rating system recognizes the accomplishments, innovations and improvements that the TVIs have instituted beyond the minimum requirements set in the Unified TVET Program Registration and Accreditation System (UTPRAS) set by TESDA.

On September 2018, GIST dared to apply for a STAR rating. Our Mandaluyong branch tested for the qualification of Food and Beverage Services NCII. The combined talent, ability and skill of the admin under the leadership of President Jose O. Montenegro has earned us 1 STAR in Food and Beverage Services NC II which was awarded April 30, 2020.

Having TESDA Star Accreditation is proof that our standards of education goes beyond what is set by TESDA. And through a virtual awarding ceremony on August 26, 2021, GIST is once again awarded a 1 STAR not only in Food and Beverage Services NC II, but also in Cookery NC II.

GIST has now made its mark in history as the first private institution in the National Capital Region to have been awarded this standard of excellence of TESDA not only once, but twice. It is the ultimate proof that our quality standard of education is continuous, consistent, and ever-improving.
